Angela Henderson received her undergraduate and Juris Doctorate from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1997. During law school, she participated in the mediation clinic at DePaul after taking two semesters of mediation training. She also practiced as a family lawyer during law school through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services under a 711 license. Angela began her career as a family attorney with offices in Hinsdale and Lemont. Nine years ago she decided to limit her practice to one county and now has a single office in Joliet.

Her practice continues to focus on family law issues including her work as a Guardian ad Litem and as Mediator. Prior to obtaining her law degree, Angela had a business career which included owning and operating four office supply stores, a Hallmark store and two travel agencies. Her business background is helpful in understanding income streams and business valuation issues. Her community activities include two terms as president of the Lemont Chamber of Commerce; teaching Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) through the Downers Township Human Services both to parents and to teachers; and PTA vice-president. She was a presenter for the Illinois State Police Juvenile Division Conference on Youth.

Her long-standing commitment to community service has not diminished as Angela currently coaches the mediation team at Lewis University. Her team has received regional and national awards including a special invitation to compete in Liverpool, England, this past November. Angela Henderson attends local as well as national seminars focused on the psychological impact of divorce on children. She recently attended the AFCC Symposium on Child Custody Evaluations in New Mexico; the International ADR Society Congress in Iowa; as well as numerous local educational opportunities. Angela Henderson is chair of the Guardian ad Litem Committee of the Will County Bar Association.
